Aims and Objectives
KLAC is proud of its reputation for focusing on child involvement and enthusiasm as we have consistently worked towards several important objectives:
- To provide the opportunity for children to participate in athletics regardless of their ability level, and at a level that is commensurate with each child’s development of skills, thus providing each child opportunity to strive for improvement.
- To provide qualified adult leadership.
- For the child to compete as a child, and not as an adult.
- For each athlete to be treated with dignity, and be provided with the opportunity to have fun through athletics.
From these objectives, we strive to ensure that all parents who become involved in Little Athletics are primarily responsible for ensuring that our activities remain recreational.
LITTLE ATHLETICS MOTTO – “FAMILY, FUN and FITNESS“
Our Training Ground
For summer season 2021/2022, we train and compete at The Village Green, corner of Wellard Road and Cliveden Avenue, Wellard. Training is on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 5:30-6:30pm and competition is on Saturdays, with events starting at 8:00am.
All children compete under the banner of Kwinana Little Athletics Centre. We place a big emphasis on having fun and trying your best, and pride ourselves on the fact that our athletes demonstrate great sportsmanship.
Like many others, our centre is entirely run by volunteers and cannot function without the help of our athletes’ parents. All families are expected to contribute on a regular basis for competition days. There are many ways in which you can help – please see our section on volunteering for more information.
If you think our centre sounds like the place for you and your little athlete, we’d love to hear from you. Email us at kwinanaLA@hotmail.com or complete the form on our contact page.
